It's a new era for the U.S. Women's National Team as they welcome their tenth full-time head coach, Emma Hayes. The 47-year-old dynamo, known widely for her successful tenure at Chelsea FC, is set to bring a fresh wave of passion and expertise to the USWNT.

Hayes' journey to this prestigious role began in the United States over two decades ago. Now, she returns to the helm of one of the world's most phenomenal football teams, ready to continue its legacy of success. "This is a huge honor to be given the opportunity to coach the most incredible team in world football history," expressed an ecstatic Hayes. "The feelings and connection I have for this team and for this country run deep."

Hayes is no stranger to the challenges that come with managing a team of high caliber. Her experience with Chelsea FC, one of Europe's most successful women's teams, has prepared her well for this moment. She is fully aware of the dedication, devotion, and collaboration required to consistently win at the highest levels.

While she prepares to take charge, the USWNT remains in the capable hands of Twila, who enjoys Hayes' full endorsement. The focus remains on the upcoming Olympics, promising a seamless transition and a thrilling future for American women's soccer under Hayes' guidance.

In her statement, Hayes acknowledged the task ahead, "I know there is work to do. I’ve dreamed about coaching the USA for a long time so to get this opportunity is a dream come true."

The anticipation for what’s to come with the USWNT program under Hayes' leadership is palpable. But it's not just about the present. The future of women's soccer in America is looking brighter than ever with the launch of the USL Super League in August 2024.

About The USL Super League

The USL Super League is a breath of fresh air in women's soccer. Committed to U.S. Soccer’s Division One standards, the league aims to be a global leader on and off the field, providing more opportunities for more women in more communities.

The inaugural 2024 season will feature 10-12 teams, with additional teams set to join in subsequent seasons. The league will operate on a "fall-to-summer" calendar, allowing players to represent both club and country and participate in the global women's transfer market.

The USL Super League will sit at the top of the USL’s distinct youth-to-pro women’s pathway. This pathway includes the USL W League, the leading pre-professional women's soccer league in the United States; the USL Academy, an advanced talent-development platform; and the Super Y League, a premier national youth competition.

Phoenix Rising FC President, Bobby Dulle, expressed his excitement about the league, "It’s exciting for us to be a part of the USL Super League, as the league will create a path to professional soccer for the thousands of girls and young women who play in our youth club and Arizona’s universities, and also generate more job opportunities for women in the sport of soccer, both on and off the field.”

The appointment of Emma Hayes and the launch of the USL Super League are significant strides toward a promising future for women's soccer in the United States. The world will be watching as this new chapter unfolds.
