The announcement of Danny Stone as the club's fifth-ever head coach marks an important moment in the team's history. Danny takes over from Juan Guerra, who led Phoenix to its first-ever USL final title. Juan has departed the club for a position as an assistant coach with the MLS side Houston Dynamo.
Danny Stone joined Phoenix Rising FC on March 9, 2021 under former head coach Rick Schantz at the time of the original hiring Rick said “I couldn’t be more excited about adding Danny to our staff, His knowledge of our youth teams will help the club take another step towards assimilation between academy and first team. His experience will help our team tremendously.”
“After a thorough and thoughtful search, we are confident that Danny is the right leader to guide our team into the next chapter of success,” said Phoenix Rising FC President Bobby Dulle. “He has been an integral part of our organization over the years, both with our youth club and the first team, demonstrating exceptional professionalism, tactical expertise and the ability to do what is necessary at any given moment to help the club succeed on and off the field.
“Danny has a clear understanding of our club’s vision and we are confident his leadership will propel our team to new heights. We look forward to witnessing the continued growth of Phoenix Rising under his guidance.”
