In a surprising turn of events, Phoenix Rising FC announced today that they have traded Baboucarr Njie to the Oakland Roots for Dariusz (Darek) Formella.

Darek Formella, the 27-year-old forward from Poland, has been a mainstay in Oakland's lineup this season. He has made his mark in 19 matches, netting six goals and providing two assists. Notably, Formella's dedication to the sport is well-documented, with him once playing a match for Sacramento Republic just an hour after his father's passing. His passion for the game could undoubtedly uplift the spirits in the locker room and catalyze a new fervor within the team.

Phoenix Rising could be eagerly awaiting July 26th, when they may see the first glimpse of Formella on the field as the team faces off against Sacramento Republic. As Phoenix Rising adapts to this new addition, all eyes will be on Formella to see if he can maintain his goal-scoring momentum and boost Phoenix Rising to new heights.

We want to take a moment to express our appreciation for Baboucarr Njie. His contributions to Phoenix Rising over the past year and a half have been instrumental. As he embarks on this new journey with Oakland Roots, we wish him nothing short of the very best. He will be missed here at Phoenix, but we look forward to watching his continued growth in Oakland.

Stay tuned to Talk Rising for more updates on this development and all things related to Phoenix Rising FC.
