Phoenix Rising entered this match against RGVFC on Saturday knowing that they needed to win in order to keep their playoff hopes alive. However, they were unable to get the job done, falling 2-1 to their opponents. This loss was a crushing blow to the team's playoff hopes, as they are now mathematically eliminated from contention. Juan Guerra will now have to regroup and prepare for next year, when he will be striving to reach the playoffs for the first time as a head coach.
RGV got the fist goal in the 39th minute and had looked pretty dominant up until that point. But then, right after half, Rising calm came out and tied it. However, RGV was then able to grab a 2nd goal and win the match.
It was a tough loss for Rising FC, getting knocked out of the playoff in a close game. But the team has to pick themselves up and get ready for the last game of the season against Atlanta United 2. The fans are still behind them and they need to go out there and give it their all. They may not have made it to the playoffs this year, but they're not going to give up. They'll be back next year, stronger and more determined than ever and bring the winning atmosphere back to Phoenix. #RisingAsOne
